Grease Trap Repair
A trap with a broken baffle is a straight pipe with extra steps. It looks like a grease trap, it gets serviced like a grease trap, and it passes nothing it is supposed to hold back.

When to call
Hard water and older piping together will take out a water heater years before its warranty runs out.
These are the symptoms that usually prompt the call. Any one of them is worth a conversation, and most of them get cheaper to deal with the earlier they are looked at.
Grease in the outlet line right after a cleaning
A cracked or collapsed lid, which is also a safety problem
Standing water at the wrong level in the trap
Odor that service does not fix
Corroded or missing baffles and tees
Delay converts a scheduled repair into an emergency, and emergencies cost more and happen at worse times.
We trace the problem back to its source rather than treating whatever symptom brought us out.
Pump it down and get a look
Nothing about a trap can be assessed while it is full.
Check the baffles first
This is the most common failure and the one most likely to have been missed by whoever serviced it last.
Inspect the structure
Concrete interceptors corrode at the top where the gases sit. Steel units rust through from the inside.
Repair in place where it is sound
Baffles, tees, lids and inlet or outlet connections are all replaceable.
Replace when the shell is gone
A corroded shell is not a repair. We will tell you that rather than selling you a patch on it.
The number you approve is the work we do. If something changes once we are into it, we stop and talk to you first.
Lids are worth treating as a safety item rather than a plumbing one. An interceptor is a confined space with a heavy cover, often set in a drive or a service area where vehicles and staff pass over it. Concrete lids crack and steel ones corrode from the underside where nobody looks, and the failure mode is somebody standing on it. If yours is cracked, moves under load or has been patched, get it replaced rather than working around it.
We run our own camera and locating equipment rather than subcontracting the diagnosis, so the person who finds the problem is the person who explains it to you.
Three counties, dozens of communities, and one phone number that has not changed in decades. If you are outside the usual radius, call and ask. We cover more ground than most shops our size.

The cheapest plumbing is the kind that gets looked at before it fails. An annual walk of the visible plumbing, checking under sinks, around the water heater and at any exposed pipe, catches most problems while they are still small and dry.
Exercise your shutoff valves once a year. A quarter turn and back keeps them from seizing, and a main shutoff that will not turn during an emergency is a much more expensive problem than one that gets used occasionally.
Watch your water bill. A bill that climbs without a change in habits is often the only warning a hidden leak will give you before the damage shows.
Water heaters benefit from an annual flush in this region more than almost anywhere else, because our water leaves sediment on the bottom of the tank where the heat has to pass through it.
We will tell you honestly when we can be there. An optimistic window that slips is worse than a realistic one.
Family-run since 1982, veteran-founded, and still working out of Yucaipa. Almost nothing about how this shop operates has changed, which is the point.
We hold plumbing, sanitation and general engineering contractor licensing, which is what allows one shop to take a job from the fixture in the bathroom all the way out to the leach field.
You get a technician who has seen this before, not someone learning on your house.

If yours is not here, call and ask. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Grease showing in the outlet line soon after a full cleaning is the clearest sign. Confirming it takes pumping the trap down and looking.
Usually yes. Baffles, tees and lids are routine. Structural corrosion through the walls is a replacement.
Yes, and treat it as a safety issue before a plumbing one. Traps are confined spaces and a lid that cannot take a load is a hazard to anyone walking over it.
Usually a dry or damaged trap seal, a failed baffle letting gases through, or a vent problem. All three are findable.
Like-for-like repairs generally do not. Replacing the interceptor does, and the district gets involved again.
We run a 24-hour line and same-day service is normal. When you call we will give you a realistic window rather than an optimistic one that slips.
Yes. We hold plumbing, sanitation and general engineering contractor licensing, which lets one shop handle work that runs from inside the house out to the septic field.
For simple, well-defined jobs sometimes. For anything that needs diagnosis, a number quoted blind is a guess, and we would rather look first and give you a real figure.
Yes. Residential, commercial and industrial, including offices, apartment complexes, hotels, restaurants and plant systems.
The tank and the drain field fail differently and need completely different work, but from inside the house they look identical. Both produce slow drains and backups. The distinction matters enormously because pumping a tank is routine maintenance while rebuilding a field is major excavation. Establishing which one you are dealing with is the first real step on any septic call.
If there is a water meter on the property and you can find it, knowing whether it is spinning with everything off is useful information.
