Water Heater Installation
Replacing a water heater is a good moment to get things right that were wrong before: the size, the venting, the connections and the code items that may have changed since the last one went in.

When to call
Ground movement is a real factor in this valley, and it shows up as offset joints in sewer laterals that were perfectly fine a decade ago.
These are the symptoms that usually prompt the call. Any one of them is worth a conversation, and most of them get cheaper to deal with the earlier they are looked at.
A heater more than ten years old
A leaking tank
Running out of hot water routinely
Rust in the hot water
A unit that no longer meets current code
The damage around a leak is usually more expensive than the leak, which is why we push people to have things looked at early.
We document what the camera sees so you are not taking our word for the condition of something buried in your yard.
Size it properly
Undersized heaters run constantly and still run out. Sizing follows the household, not the old unit.
Check what has to change
Venting, seismic strapping, expansion tanks and connection requirements have all changed over the years.
Install and haul the old one away
The old unit leaves with us.
Test everything
Temperature, connections, venting and safety devices checked before we go.
We explain what we found, what it takes to fix, and what happens if you leave it. Then you decide. Nothing starts before that.
A water heater replacement is a good moment to correct things that were wrong or have changed. Seismic strapping requirements, expansion tanks, venting standards and clearances have all shifted over the decades, and a unit installed to the rules of 1998 may not meet the rules now. We bring installations up to current code as part of the work rather than reinstalling a copy of what was there.
We would rather carry more equipment than we need on a given day than tell a customer we have to come back with the right tool.
Four decades of work in this region built a service area that covers most of the Inland Empire. If you are outside the usual radius, call and ask. We cover more ground than most shops our size.

If a drain has slowed, deal with it while it is slow. A slow drain is a partial blockage announcing itself, and it will finish the job eventually at a less convenient moment.
Look behind and under appliances once in a while. Washing machine hoses, dishwasher connections and ice-maker lines are common leak sources and they are all hidden from normal view.
Keep grease out of drains, and that includes running hot water after it. Hot water simply carries it further down the line to somewhere less convenient.
For commercial property, a maintenance schedule on drains and interceptors costs a fraction of emergency response, and it is the difference between planned work and a closure.
Booking is simple and the quote is free, so there is no cost to finding out what you are dealing with.
We are small enough that the owners know the jobs and large enough to send somebody when you need one. That balance is deliberate and it is why we have not tried to grow into something else.
The range of licensing we hold is a direct consequence of the work in this area, where properties on septic and aging underground infrastructure are routine.
The same family has been doing this work here since 1982, through three generations of Inland Empire housing stock.

If yours is not here, call and ask. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Tankless saves space and does not run out, but needs correct gas supply and venting. Tank units cost less up front. The building usually decides it.
It follows household size and peak demand rather than what was there before, which may well have been wrong.
A straightforward tank swap is usually a few hours. Changes to venting or gas supply add to it.
Yes, it leaves with us and is disposed of properly.

Yes. The line is answered live around the clock, so you are talking to somebody who can send a truck, not leaving a message for the morning.
Regularly. We coordinate around construction schedules, tenant access and operating hours as a matter of course.
The fixtures people notice are the end of a system that is mostly invisible. Behind a wall or under a slab, the supply lines, drains and vents that make a bathroom work are doing the real job, and they are where nearly all the expensive problems live. What shows at the fixture is usually a symptom of something further back.
If you have used chemical drain products, tell us. It changes how we open the line and it matters for the technician's safety.
